'Dancing with the Stars' pro shares her tragic family loss. Fans send condolences

Cheryl Burke, a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars has been scarce on social media. She even told fans that she would be off because of personal reasons.

Now, a couple of weeks since then, the star has opened up with the reason for her absence. According to Faith Family America, Burke lost her father on March 9, 2018.

According to ET, on March 19, 2018, a Monday night, Burke, 33, made a sad announcement on her social media pages. She revealed that her family had suffered a great as her father had passed away.

The star shared the news as several fans had been wondering why she had taken a break from social media. She revealed that her father had passed away at the beginning of March and that she needed some time to process that.

Burke wrote a heartbreaking tribute to her father on Instagram. Alongside the tribute, she added a picture of the two of them when she was a young girl.

‘Dad, if I had one more chance to have you here with me today, I would do things differently. Every day I would tell you how much I love you.’

‘I miss you so much already. Rest in peace Stephen Louis Burke April 13, 1950-March 9, 2018,’ she wrote as part of the post.

Four days after her father’s death, Burke took to Twitter to let her fans know that she would be stepping away from social media for a while.

In that post, she revealed that she was ‘dealing with some personal things.’ Now, she has revealed what she was going through.

She had thanked her fans for understanding and gave them a sincere message. Burke asked her followers to remember to tell the people that were important to them how much they loved them every day.

Even before she had revealed exactly what she was going through, fans began pouring in their support.
