Condolences are in order for Queen Latifah following the death of her mother, Rita Owens on March 21.
The singer’s mom had suffered from a heart condition for over ten years.
She shared the sad news, ‘It is with a heavy heart that I share the news, my mother, Rita Owens, passed away today.
Queen Latifah added:
‘Anyone that has ever met her knows what a bright light she was on this earth. She was gentle, but strong, sweet, but sassy, worldly but pragmatic, a woman of great faith and certainly the love of my life'.
Ms. Owens’ photos on red carpets with her daughter speak much, she was full of life even with her health struggle.
Snoop Dogg joined other celebrities as he paid condolence to the actress.
He took to Instagram recently to share a photo of Queen Latifah and her late mom and captioned with a touching message:
‘Praying 4u @queenlatifah'.
Prayers and love have been in order for the actress since she was bereaved.
Fans joined Snoop Dogg as they left their deepest heartfelt condolences and prayers on his post.

Though Dana Owens (Queen Latifah’s birth name) said she was heartbroken over her death, she now finds solace knowing that her mother is at peace.
