NFL quarterback arrested after police viewed video of alleged assault on girlfriend
The popular NFL athlete was arrested after his long-time girlfriend alleged him of domestic violence and physical abuse.
The quarterback of Seattle Seahawks, Trevone Boykin, was released by the team after he was arrested for domestic violence against his girlfriend since high-school, Shabrika Bailey.
According to The Wild Card, Bailey had a broken jaw, which was wired shut, when she went public about the argument that she and Boykin got into leading up to the violence in the athlete's home in Mansfield, Texas.
The source informed that Boykin got enraged with Bailey when she refused to unlock her phone so that he could see a text message. Bailey reported that he then grabbed her by her neck and choked her until she was unconscious.
“I remember him choking me and I’m trying to calm him down. And I just couldn’t. And I blacked out. I just couldn’t calm him down at all," the source quoted Bailey as revealing.
Bailey also revealed that she "woke up in a puddle of blood on the kitchen floor" and her right side was full of blood.
Boykin later dragged her to a bathtub and attempted to clean her wounds and the blood off her. He then took her to Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite. The quarterback then fled when the hospital staffs started raising questions.
When Bailey reached the hospital first, he couldn't even breathe as her airway had swollen and constricted. She had to be airlifted to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. She went through three days of treatment before she was released.
The police investigated Boykin at his home on March 27, 2018. Following this, Seattle Seahawks released the quarterback that same day and took to Twitter to announce the news.
