Woman has not cut her nails for over 4 years and the outcome is unbelievable
The internet contains many stories about people who do any sort of things that the majority would label as ‘weird.’
Simone Taylor, a 16-year-old student from Germany, is one of them as she has not clipped her fingernails in four years. Her almost-15-centimeter-long nails are the perfect example of resilience and rebellion.
As reported by Unilad, everything started in 2014, when she watched a couple of tutorials about painting them. Since many of the artists she saw online had long nails, she decided to grow hers.
It is something completely normal and many people do it. Things went out of control after the first year, when she never clipped them even once. She confessed that people kept complimenting her and she felt very good about them.
She added that, during the first year, she would always think ‘I’ll cut the tomorrow,’ but she never actually did it and, now, they are a part of her. Her thumbnails are 14.8 centimeters long while the rest of them are around 11.8 centimeters.
Since nails are not that strong, she has been applying two base coats of nail hardener and cuticle oil. Day after day, she must clean the undersides with cotton buds to prevent them to get filthy.
Taylor spends around three hours painting them as she applies two base coats and a top coat. If that’s not enough, she must spend around 90 minutes to remove the polish.
Many people have asked her about the toilet time and if it is uncomfortable. She confessed that it is not that hard and that showering is worse as the nails get caught in her hair.
Surprisingly or not, she has only broken a nail once in the entire four years. It happened while climbing a gate that wouldn’t open. When she jumped down, the middle finger one broke. She glued it later, though.
Some friends and teachers – especially her Physical Education one – have asked her to clip them but she refuses. Taylor cannot play volleyball, basketball, or any other sport involving her hands, which means she gets poor grades in PE.
So far, she is happy with her nails and it is not likely to see her clipping them in the near future.
