Meghan Markle's surprising terms of divorce with her ex-husband has been revealed in a new book.

A royal biographer, Andrew Morton, is all set to release his new book highlighting American actress Meghan Markle's journey to the royal wedding.

According to Unilad, the book, titled Meghan, A Hollywood Princess, also provides the account of how Markle left her former husband Trever Engelson, without any prior notice.

The source informed that Markle told about it in 2013 after two years of marriage, and ended the relationship with her ex-husband 'really abruptly.'

Morton writes in the book that their relationship ended so unannounced that Markle sent her wedding and engagement rings back to Trevor by registered post.

He also cited another source as revealing that it was Markle who ended the marriage and she made the decision 'totally out of the blue.'

'Trevor went from cherishing Meghan to, as one friend observed, ‘feeling like he was a piece of something stuck to the bottom of her shoes…' the source quoted Morton as writing in his book.

It was also reported that the couple's marriage fell apart because of their growing distances. Markle was mostly away, busy filming Suits in Toronto. At the same time, Engelson's career was moving 'at the fast pace hers was.'

In the book, Morton claims that while Markle's star was rising, her husband's career was going downhill, which led to their increasing differences.

When she was finally on a break from her busy Suits schedule, Engelson took Markle on a vacation to Vietnam, but their escape to 'exotic locales' could not ignite their love like it once did. It rather made the 'distance between them' more apparent.

Their relationship never recovered from this and they eventually split up. Engelson is still hurt by the separation and is still angry at his former wife - even five years after the incident, the source reported.
