'Long Island Medium' Theresa Caputo discloses details about her split from husband of 30 years

The Long Island Medium star finally spoke about her split with her husband of almost three decades.

Theresa Caputo shared the reason behind her split with Larry Caputo during the season premiere of Long Island Medium, airing on TLC.

Theresa and Larry announced that they were officially separating in December 2017, according to Pop Culture.

Talking about the decline of their marriage, Theresa explained that it was impossible to really pinpoint during which part of their time together caused their downfall.

She said their relationship had turned from something so good into something incredibly toxic.

Theresa also revealed that people have been asking them a lot of questions, but they were all just too impossible to answer.

She said, "The tension was so bad here in the house, and it's something that happened over time. It's nothing that happened overnight. People can say whatever they want — it was my work, it was this is was that — it just happened."

She went on to clarify that it was a gradual thing that happened over the years. Theresa admitted that the whole situation is just sad.

As for Larry, it has been hard for him as well.

He shared that their split has been the hardest thing for him to endure, and he clarified that he has been through a lot throughout his life.

Explaining himself in reference to why he chose to end things with his wife, he said there comes a time that you have to put yourself first above everybody else and find out what will truly make you happy.

Theresa has been keeping herself busy by diving into her work. She has been attempting to avoid thinking about the separation as much as she could.

She also shared that it is hard for her to move forward and to continue doing what she loves without her husband.

The couple revealed their joint statement regarding their separation in December 2017, through Us Weekly.
