A man went to the kitchen for a beer, when suddenly he started belting out Keith Whitley

A fitness instructor was able to follow his passion for singing after a YouTube video went viral. Christopher King was recorded by his sister’s as he sang a famous country song.

In the video, he could be seen passionately hitting all the right notes as he sang with his eyes closed. Last year he’d finally found the courage to pursue his gift and now he sings in clubs and other places according to Classic Country Music.

King performed Don’t Close Your Eyes in one of the most heartfelt displays. At the time he was just hanging out at home when he found himself standing in the middle of the kitchen with a beer in one hand.

He started singing Keith Whitley‘s hit song while his sister recorded the whole thing on video. The song has been covered by some of the biggest names in country music.

"I am grown up now, I have always loved singing and it's something I will do more of. I even perform at gigs, weddings, and parties."

Whitley’s 1988 hit is a song that just doesn’t disappoint. King could be seen closing his eyes and leaning into the moment as he poured his heart out into the beautiful performance.

The singer described his family as being very musical and it was the norm to sing when there was any form of a social gathering. But he never expected to become a hit like this.

King started out as a hairdresser but applied for the X Factor when he was just 18. At the time he did not get to the final stages but 10 years later he found a new burst of confidence.

King told Belfast Live, “It's great doing something I love.” Thanks to his sisters Denise and Michelle for capturing the great voice that we've all had a chance to know about him.
