Lionel Richie's teen daughter is banned by dad from meeting her 34-year-old boyfriend

Singer Lionel Richie received one of Hollywood’s highest honors on April 4, and his three children accompanied him to the ceremony, but there was someone he didn’t want around.

Even though everything appeared to be great on the surface when legendary singer Lionel Richie, 68, accompanied by his family, let his imprints in cement outside of the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, there was a tense situation brewing in the household.

As Daily Mail reported, the singer is not happy at all with his 19-year-old daughter Sofia’s romance with much older reality star Scott Disick, who is 34 years old. This is no secret to anyone, but Lionel seems to be taking things to another level.

Lionel has previously spoken out about his dislike for Disick, who has the reputation of a ‘bad boy,’ as Sofia’s choice of a boyfriend. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, the singer dismissed his daughter’s relationship with Disick as ‘just a phase.’

But as the relationship continues, Lionel apparently hasn’t given up on his refusal to accept Disick anywhere near his family, and sources close to the artist has claimed that he forbid Disick to join Sofia in attending the Hand and Footprint Ceremony on April 4.

‘Scott has so much baggage AND went to rehab. Who wants that for their teen daughter? He banned her from bringing him with her to the hand and footprint ceremony,’ the source told The Sun.

It is not hard to imagine that this latest move from Lionel against Disick was not of the liking of Sofia, but apparently, she put her dissatisfaction to a side to avoid spoiling the great homage the industry is paying to her father.

There were no visible signs of trouble when the singer and his immediate family and companions showed up for the traditional ceremony, except that Disick was nowhere to be seen.

Sofia sat beside her father’s girlfriend Lisa Parisa. The other two children of Lionel, Miles, 23, and Nicole, 36, were sitting with them. Nicole’s husband, musician Joel Madden, 38, was also present.
