There’s nothing compared to the joy a woman feels when she approaches motherhood or when she conceives a child but it wasn’t all joy at the beginning for Bodak Yellow crooner Cardi B.

Cardi B just announced that she was expecting a child with her rapper fiancé Offset and although she’s thrilled about it that wasn’t her initial reaction when she got the news.

The rapper who is just starting her career felt overwhelmed when she discovered she was with child. The 25-year-old confessed on The Breakfast Club that she sort of considered an abortion at first as she didn’t think she was ready for the big responsibilities of motherhood.

She said to the radio show that she considered to terminate the pregnancy but she hesitated as she couldn’t deal with the whole ‘abortion thing’. She revealed that things got scary when she realized she wa pregnancy as the pregnancy came at the same time the release of her album ‘Invasion of Privacy’ was due as well as a performance at Coachella.

Amidst all the doubt and fear, the female rapper managed to summon courage and excitement as she encouraged herself that she could handle whatever motherhood throws at her.

She said;

‘You know what, I’m a grown woman. I’m 25 years old. I’m gonna say this in the humblest way.. I’m a schmillionaire. I’m prepared for this! Yeah, you are, Cardi!. I don’t want to wait until I’m 30-something to have a kid. I want my kid now that I have energy and stuff’

She also admitted that she and her beau Offset were caught by surprise with the pregnancy as it wasn’t planned at all.

In her words:

‘No it wasn’t planned. It was just one night… it was a good night. That one night, it had to be that night.’
