Underwood slipped and fell off the porch of her Nashville home in November 2017. She broke her wrist and sustained injuries to her face that resulted in nearly 50 stitches.

For the past five months, Underwood has stayed away from the spotlight and kept selfies and social media posts to a minimum.

In the few photos she did share of her face, she was either covered in a scarf or only showed one side of her face. In a blog post on her website, she explained why.

'When I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different.'
