Nikki Bella is reportedly 'devastated' over John Cena split

Wrestling fans were shocked to know Nikki Bella and John Cena split less than a month before their programmed wedding day. A source is blaming Cena for getting cold feet about it.

According to an insider who talked to People about the former couple of professional wrestlers, 34-year-old Nikki Bella is devastated about the cancellation of her dream wedding, one year after 40-year-old John Cena popped the question publicly.

As Yahoo has reported, Cena allegedly had doubts about the decision to marry again, and couldn’t handle the pressure as the wedding date was drawing near, making him call the whole thing off almost at the last minute.

Cena, who had been previously married to Elizabeth Huberdeau from 2009 to 2012, admitted in the past that he didn’t want to get married again, but later, he surprised everybody when he proposed Bella in April 2017, right on the wrestling ring.

It actually seemed that Cena had changed her mind about marriage, and he appeared to be comfortable with the idea of becoming Bella’s husband. Recently, while promoting his new movie Blockers, he said he already felt married to her.

‘I’m already ready to go there and it sounds nice hearing it. I know that we will have a wonderful future together because I love the way that sounds,’ Cena said of fans calling Bella his wife.

It is not a surprise to anybody, then, that Bella is going through a really difficult time dealing with this unexpected breakup just weeks before she was supposed to tie the know with her boyfriend of the last 6 years.

‘This was supposed to be the happiest time of her life. He ruined it and blew everything up,’ the insider source said. According to the source, Bella had already picked out her wedding dress, and she was left heartbroken by Cena’s indecision.

‘As the day got closer, it was like he just went back to who he’s always been — which is someone who puts himself first, always,’ said the insider. The source went on to say that in the end, he was never sure of having room for somebody to share his life with.

‘But in that case, he never should’ve proposed, let alone in front of millions of people. Now she’s heartbroken,’ added the insider.

On April 15, Bella took to social media to officially confirm the split with a written statement:

‘While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives,’ Bella said.
