“Today, we celebrated my parents’ 50th anniversary...We listened to stories of how they met and their first years together...the good Lord sure did bless them...and us! I think these crazy kids are gonna make it!”

The country star has been vocal about her relationship with her parents in the past. She even said they were the inspiration behind her hit song, “The Champion” featuring Ludacris, which served as the theme for NBC’s coverage of the Olympics and the 2018 Super Bowl. “They just worked really hard and did everything they could to provide for us and make our lives better and give us every opportunity that they could,” said Carrie. More inspiration certainly came from Fisher, for whom the singer gushed; “My husband, on and off the ice, he’s definitely a champion of mine.”
