'Why God took so long to give me a baby'

A mother waited so long to have a child and when she was blessed with one, the daughter answered the question that the mother had been asking God.

It took Rebekah Fox and her husband, Brandon, a number of years to conceive a child.

Finally, in 2013, they were blessed with a baby girl and they named her Selah.

Fox has made a blog to share her story with other women who have been struggling with infertility. She also talks about motherhood and marriage.

In one of her posts, she shared how her daughter explained to her why it took God so long to bless them with a baby.

Fox shared that she was painting in their garage while Selah was drawing a rainbow on the cement floor with chalk.

Out of the blue, she recalled that Selah said, “I’m glad God gave you to me as my Mommy.”

After hearing what her daughter said, Fox welled up.

Soon after, Selah closed her eyes and prayed. She thanked God for giving her mother to her.

She continued to pray and said sweet words that completely brought Fox to tears.

Fox was surprised to know that her daughter had such gratitude within her at a young age of three.

Later on, Fox told her daughter, “Thank you, Selah. I’m so glad God gave me you as my daughter.”

She remembered how much she wanted to hug her daughter but she had white paint all over her hands.

Eventually, Selah asked her mother if she had to wait a long time for her. Fox shared that she had told her daughter the same story many times.

Fox moved closer to her daughter and answered yes. She added, “I asked God for a baby over and over again. But He didn’t give me one for a long time.”

She told Selah that when she and Brandon found out that she was pregnant, they were both very happy.Selah asked if Fox knew why God took so long to give her a baby.

Fox answered no and Selah replied that she knew why.

Selah continued to say, “Because he was making me.”

From that point, Fox had so many realizations about God and about the perfect timing.

She told her readers that God has a reason for everything. There is a reason why God makes a couple wait to have a child.

Fox went on to say that something beautiful can’t be rushed and couples just have to trust God’s process.
