TV documentary chronicles Charles and Camilla's reported affair before his marriage with Diana
Her name does not figure in the list of the most liked people in the UK, especially after earning the distinction of being the “other woman.”
Closer Weekly reported that ITV’s new documentary, The Real Camilla: HRH the Duchess of Cornwall, discusses the most private Royal.
Camilla Parker Bowles may not be too excited about the latest documentary about her life. It claimed that she and Prince Charles had an affair long before the latter’s marriage to the late Princess Diana.
The ITV special, telecast on April 23, 2018, insisted that Camilla was the “adulterer.” However, her then-husband was to blame for it as he was the unfaithful one.
Camilla and Charles first met at a polo game and started dating in the early 1970’s. The romance did not last long as the Prince’s stint at the Royal Navy forced him to travel overseas in 1973.
She had previously dated Andrew Parker Bowles in the 1960’s and the two tied the knot in 1973. The documentary claimed that the British Army Officer, Andrew, was unfaithful.
This forced an unhappy Camilla to seek comfort in Charles when he returned to the UK.
An insider said, “She was unhappy that she was the betrayed woman. This was the real problem. That’s what sent her back into the arms of Prince Charles.”
The source claimed that her then-husband “was away an awful lot,” while the Prince was always kind to her during her troubled times.
The marriage came to an end only in 1995 when she finally divorced Andrew. Charles, in the meantime, had met Diana and married her.
However, Diana was aware and haunted by her husband’s feelings for Camilla. In the famous interview to Panorama in 1995, she opened up about her marriage to Charles.
She said that there were three people in the marriage and it felt “a bit crowded.”
Prince William and Prince Harry’s parents separated in 1992 and divorced in 1995. Charles and Camilla rekindled their romance and wed in 2005.
The couple had Queen Elizabeth’s blessings as Camilla received the title of the Duchess of Cornwall. She was even appointed to Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council in 2016.
The appointment was worth a mention because Camilla was the first British princess by marriage to receive the honor.
