One of the power couples that showed up at the star-studded ceremony was Henry Connick Jr. and his wife, actress Jill Goodacre.
Goodacre was spotted at the party for the first time since the news of her cancer diagnosis surfaced last year.Connick Jr. took to social media to share the happy update with his fans and followers online.
In a social media post, the famous musician shared a photo of himself and his wife attending the gala. Goodacre was seen wearing a black sequined semi-sheer dress coupled with chic black heels.
She accessorized with a simple black clutch and a pair of large diamond earrings completed her dressed-up look. She appeared to have kept her makeup light, wearing nude lip color and winged eyeliner.
Connick Jr. was also dressed to impress, wearing a black tux with an overlay of chic self-colored embroidery on the glossy fabric of the suit.
He sported classic black shoes and posed proudly beside his wife at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
In another picture, Connick Jr. wrote that he was looking forward to attending the event with his wife, whom he considered the most beautiful woman on the planet.
As reported by People, Goodacre opened up for the first time about her battle with cancer in October last year.
She shockingly revealed that she had been diagnosed with the illness in 2012, and had to undergo a critical surgery and take strong medication for five years.
She had also shared that the medication caused her to gain weight and the struggle had lowered her self-confidence.
