Meghan Markle's dad has still not met Prince Harry
After some uncertainty, it has now been confirmed that Meghan Markle’s father will walk his daughter down the aisle when she marries Prince Harry on May, 19.
Thomas W Markle is the father of the actress Meghan Markle, is of Dutch-Irish origin, and was born in 1945. He is a former television lighting director working on iconic US shows, as reported by Daily Mail.
In 2011 he won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Direction for a Drama Series for his work on General Hospital, a long-running US soap. He was married to Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, in 1979 but they divorced in 1987
Doria, a yoga instructor, and a therapist has met her future son-in-law a few times and was with Meghan and Harry at the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games in Toronto in September 2017.
On the other hand, Thomas is beginning to prepare himself to make the trip from New Mexico, where he is spending his retirement, to attend the wedding and has been spotted looking up the latest on the happy couple online.
He was captured seeing pictures of the pair and reading news items about them during 20 minutes at an internet café in the town where he lives. He could have been seeking last-minute material for his wedding speech, a long tradition for the father of the bride.
Meghan will also be walked down the aisle by her father, as is traditional. Meghan Markle’s family has been the source of much speculation since the 36-year-old actresses relationship with Prince Harry came to light.
Meghan grew up alongside her half-siblings, Samantha and Thomas Jnr, however, the two are not expected to be at the wedding after making some outspoken criticisms of the actress and humanitarian.
As Kensington Palace disclosed more details of the royal wedding, they also announced that Meghan will not be having a maid of honor and that her bridesmaids and pageboys will all be children.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte will be at the wedding and are expected to be among the young helpers, but names have yet to be confirmed.
Also, the royal couple has chosen a beautiful way to honor Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, on their wedding day. The couple’s floral arrangements inside the chapel will include white garden roses, one of Diana’s favorite flowers.
