Bradley Thomas, the 1-year-old boy that was reported missing, was found lying naked on a pile of dirt in the middle of the woods.

The alert was sound3e last Thursday, May 10, 2018. The Deschutes County Sherrif's Office, in Oregon, launched a search party early in the morning upon learning of the toddler's disappearance.

Police officers searched high and low for the baby, who was found after six hours by Detective Doug Jackson, who held Thomas while posing for a photo that was uploaded to Twitter.

Attached to the photo was a confirmation that the toddler received medical assistance and that he was fine despite having spent so many hours by himself out in the open.

It is believed that the father, Brandon Blouin, left Thomas on the pile of dirt while searching for the baby's 18-year-old mother, who is yet to be identified.

The young woman walked away from the family's car, parked one mile away from where Thomas was found, and didn't return, prompting Blouin to look for her.

Although it isn't certain, officers have reason to believe that the baby's father was under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of the incident, which was why he abandoned the baby.

Blouin was tracked down and arrested. He is being charged with child neglect and abuse, criminal mistreatment and endangering the welfare of a minor. Plus, he's being accused of assault because of an injury found on Thomas' body.

While the search was still active, the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office urged people to stay clear from the woods and to not search on their own in order to make the officers' job easier.

"We have search K9s and searchers in the area. We thank the community for offers to help, but it’s very important scent and tracks in the dirt are not disturbed."

Blouin is currently under police custody at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend. It hasn't been revealed whether he is being held on bond or if even has any legal representation.

This was just another story of child abuse. Recently, in April, a newborn was described as a miracle for being found alive after she was abandoned in a freezing water drain with stinging red ants in South Africa.
