Melania Trump is reportedly hospitalized after undergoing emergency kidney surgery
The First Lady of the United States,Melania Trump, was hospitalized after having to undergo an emergency kidney surgery. While FLOTUS was in the hospital, the President was reported to have remained in the White House.
Melania's husband Donald Trump confirmed circulating news of Melania's hospitalization to undergo a kidney surgery.
Through his personal Twitter account, President Trump announced his hospital visit after the surgery. The reason why Melania's husband was not with her during the surgery itself was not stated.
According to his tweet, Melania was confined at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
The First Lady was confined last Monday morning, and is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days more following the operation for additional observation.
Prior to her confinement, Melania managed to greet all the mothers in America a 'Happy Mother's Day'.
On the official 'FLOTUS' Instagram account, Mrs. Trump posted a close up photo of pink flowers, with the simple caption 'Happy Mother's Day'.
While many have speculated about the reason for the First Lady's hospitalization, the White House has not released an official statement regarding the matter.
While Donald Trump remained at the White House during her surgery, he made up for his absence by paying a visit to his wife whom he claims is in 'high spirits' after the successful operation.
The president went on to thank their supporters who wished them well both before and after Melania's kidney surgery.
Since Nancy Reagan's mastectomy in October 1987, she is the first US First Lady that had to undergo a serious medical procedure.
It has not been announced when Melania will be heading back to the White House and continue her duties as the First Lady, but the White House's main priority is for her to recover from her surgery successfully.
