Will Smith spoke out about divorce rumors in his new song
13 years since he released his last record, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star announced his return to music in a teaser video, and he took the opportunity to address the rumors about him divorcing Jada Pinkett Smith.
On May 23, Will Smith surprised his followers with a video that shows him in the recording studio talking about how he is ready to make a new album and showcasing a little of his rapping talent.
As People reported, the sample track he partially unveiled from his upcoming comeback is called To the Clique, and Smith sounds very confident about what he’s got after a successful acting career and a beautiful marriage.
The 49-year-old father-of-three examined his more than 25 years in the entertainment industry in the lyrics of his unreleased track, and he also denied the longstanding rumors that he and his wife of 20 years are about to divorce.
‘Stop the divorce rumors and mind your damn business,’ sings Smith in the clip, reacting to the tabloid speculation around the couple, who share two children: Jaden, 19, and Willow, 17.
‘The real-life Incredibles, last name Smith. Jada, Jaden, Willow, Trey — y’all ain’t f—ing with my clique,’ Smith continues in the longer version of the clip, which he uploaded to his Youtube account.
The above-mentioned verse includes his less-known older son from his previous marriage to Sheree Zampino, Trey Smith, 24. This way, Smith seems to be trying to erase any trace of doubt about the strength of his family.
Smith’s last album until now was 2005’s Lost and Found, his fourth album as a solo artist. While he later became much better known as an actor, his origins go back to his time as a rapper known as 'The Fresh Prince¡.
It seems that 2018 will be the year Smith jumps back into music big time, as news came out that he will also be performing at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
