Marlon Wayans steals hearts with photo of grown-up daughter who looks more like her mom

Marlon Wayans is one of the best comedians in the entertainment industry, but he knows when to be serious and he recently proved it by sharing a heartfelt message for his grown-up daughter. The gorgeous young lady just is about to graduate from school and is heading to college, and her parents couldn’t be prouder.

Celebritist was lurking around Marlon Wayans’ Instagram account and among many photos of the actor just goofing around, we stumbled with a gorgeous photo of his eldest daughter posing with two friends as they enjoyed their last days in school.

The girl, named Amai, is Wayans’ firstborn with ex-wife Angelica Zachary, and she looks like the vivid image of her mother. In the photo, Amai is seen wearing a bucket hat and a blue sweatshirt that’s probably part of her uniform, since her friends are wearing the same.

Wayans, being a proud father, wrote a heartfelt message for Amai that had fans swooning over his parenting skills, as he wrote:

“Congrats to my baby girl on her last day of classes. You’re a perfect child with a perfect heart a beautiful mind a soulful spirit and an innocent aura. I am soooooooooo proud of you baby girl. It’s just the beginning... you’re already a legend. Keep practicing your excellence. Remain fearless continue to grow and walk with the confidence that your daddy loves you, supports and always has your back. Have fun at USC… but most all have fun in life. Be home to kiss your face Tuesday.. big wet spitty kisses with my itchy little beard.”

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight last year, Marlon opened about his parenting style, revealing that he prefers to be a friend for his kids because in that way they can trust him with things that kids usually hide from parents.

He said:

“I stopped being their dad a long time ago. I was like, 'We're going to be friends,' As a dad, I don't want to be all possessive like, 'Who you talking to? I want to meet 'em!' I don't want to be sitting there shining bullets. No, I'm going to be your friend.”

It helps that Wayans and his ex-wife have such a close relationship despite being legally separated, as they have decided to remain friends in order to co-parent their kids in a peaceful environment. For the comedian, Angelica will always be a special person in his life, and he has nothing but love for her.

He said to ET:

“At the end of the day, the person that you had those children with, you love and love dearly. And I always will. I'll always have nothing but love and respect for that woman. I think of her as my family. We go to dinner, we go to the movies, we hang out, we laugh. Now, she won't give me none, but that's OK.”

We’re glad to know that Marlon Wayans has such a close relationship with his kids and his ex-wife, and we’re sure Amai will do great at college because she seems like a pretty smart young lady by her dad’s words.
