Michael Jordan reportedly dropped $10 million on wedding to former model Yvette Prieto

Michael Jordan married model Yvette Prieto in an extravagant wedding in 2013, and recent news uncovered that he spent $10 million on that day.

The Charlotte Bobcats owner exchanged vows with model Yvette Prieto in a luxurious Palm Beach Florida wedding. It took place at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea and had nearly 300 guests to witness them enter marriage life. Guests included Tiger Woods, Patrick Ewing, Spike Lee, and Ahmad Rashad.

Their civil ceremony was followed by reception at the Bear's Club in Jupiter, Florida, a luxury private golf club designed by Jack Nicklaus. Michael owns a home near the course where they celebrated. The wedding tent used for their reception was 40000 square feet big, larger than his 35000 square feet home.

Wedding gifts were discouraged at the event, and instead donations were urged for the James R. Jordan Foundation. The wedding flowers, which included arrangements of tulips, roses, and peonies, were also donated to the Jupiter Medical Center for its patients.

The six-time NBA champion met Prieto in 2008, and got engaged in December 2012.

Yvette wore a French silk voile corseted sheer gown designed by J'Aton Couture. Its handmade silk lace cloth was created just for her, and was accented with Swarovski crystals. The gown featured French seamed crinoline borders, which had peacock feather designs.

Serenading guests on the special day included DJ MC Lyte, K'Jon, Robine Thicke, 18-piece band The Source, and Grammy Award-winning artist Usher.

Guests were served an all-white, seven-layer white rum wedding cake that was covered in white fondant, sugar crystals, and crystal brooches. The cherry on top of the cake was the couples' monogram on the topmost layer.

In total, the wedding reportedly cost a whopping 10 million dollars. Aside from the large venue, the scrumptuous food, and the festival-like lineup of guest artists, the reception also featured crystal candelabras, private cigar rooms, and buses to drive people from the church to the wedding reception.
