This is the second time that Bush has been to the hospital after recently losing his wife of 73 years, Barbara Bush. The former First Lady was 92 when she passed away on April 17.

The first time that Bush was hospitalized was on April 22. At the time, McGrath had shared that the former President was admitted to the Houston Methodist Hospital.

His hospitalization came after Bush contracted an infection that spread to his blood. McGrath revealed that the former President was responding to treatments and appeared to be recovering.

‘President @GeorgeHWBush was taken to Southern Maine Health Care (@SMHCHealth) today after experiencing low blood pressure and fatigue. He will likely remain there for a few days for observation.’

He was said to be alert and talking with hospital staff, family, and friends. At the time, his doctors had been very pleased with his healing progress.
