Video compilation of jungle animals reacting to their own reflection in a mirror

The video captured stunning reactions of various animals when they encountered a mirror in the forest.

Caters News reported that French photographer Xavier Hubert Brierre and his wife set up mirrors in several locations in the forests of Gabon.

It is said that there can be no better or worse sight than one’s own reflection. However, some of the animals in the central African country seemed intrigued by their image.

Innovative photographer Brierre traveled all the way to Gabon to capture animals in a strange environment.

They set up mirrors and recorded the reactions of the passing animals.

Brierre got some stunning footage, which was later shared on YouTube in 2015. One of the most amusing reactions was from two leopards.

One of the animals looks at the mirror curiously, while the second leopard attacks it. He walks over to take a closer look and then paws at the mirror seemingly at a rival leopard.

Then there is the gorilla who greets his reflection with violence and aggressive thrashing at the mirror.

A white elephant comes face to face with his reflection before deciding to walk away quietly.

Another leopard is heard making angry noises at his reflection in the mirror while pawing at it throughout.

The photographer spent long days in the African jungle. Despite being attacked by various insects found in the wild, Brierre said he had a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

“I had to wash the mirrors on which leopards and monkeys left greasy streaks, traces of blood and feces left by insects hitting their surface ignoring their reflective property,” said Brierre.

The team hid cameras in secure boxes and had set up motion sensors which triggered the cameras whenever there was an animal walking close to the mirrors.

The many animals that walked by did not disappoint and gave the photographer some stunning photos he would treasure for the rest of his life.
