Sanaa, 46, was literally blooming in her white dress with orange and green floral prints which she accentuated with a wide white belt with black diamond clasps. Her short do helped reveal her exotic beauty highlighted by red orange lips.

Her good friend Regina, 47, opted for a multi-patterned suit with lines and shapes in the shades of brown, white and red. She tied her long hair in a high ponytail revealing pair of giant hoop earrings that dangled on each side of her flawlessly made up face.

Regina was prepared to receive the highest honor that night for the inspiration she provides to ‘Step Up’ which works towards guiding and mentoring young women from under-resourced communities. Her best friend was on hand to present her the award.

In her speech, the ‘Scary Movie’ star shared the advice she gives to the young women she inspires.

"We’re in a time of social media, so I encourage our beautiful young girls to pursue excellence, not 'likes.' It's really easy to look and compare yourself, but who you are is so incredibly powerful and you don’t have to look, think or be like anyone. You just have to love to your highest degree and pursue your highest self, and that shouldn’t be compared to anything. Let your worth come from the inside."

Proud of her friend’s achievement, Sanaa took to her Instagram to laud her.

“Had the pleasure of honoring my bestie @morereginahall today at the Step Up inspiration awards. It’s an amazing organization that propels girls living or going to school in under-resourced communities to fulfill their potential by empowering them to become confident, college-bound, career-focused, and ready to join the next generation of professional women. So proud of you Regina you inspire me and so many others. Love u and congratulations!”

Regina was equally grateful to her close friend for her support and made sure she thanked her in a separate post. Using the same photo Sanaa posted, she penned her thanks in her caption before promoting ‘Step Up.’

“So grateful to be honored today at the 2018 Inspiration Awards. Thank you to my bestie/sister @sanaalathan for presenting me with the award. I was touched by your beautiful speech. Step Up is an amazing organization that propels girls living or going to school in under-resourced communities to fulfill their potential by empowering them to become confident, college-bound, career-focused, and ready to join the next generation of professional women. What an incredible day!!!!”

Prior to presenting the award to her best friend, Sanaa was introduced by ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey who received a standing ovation, presumably due to her recent bold move to cancel 'Roseanne'. The television executive earned waves of praises after she abruptly decided to pull the plug on the returning show following its star Roseanne Barr's disappointing racist tweet.
