The Council of Fashion Designers of America in partnership with Swarovski is an annual award celebration that gathered the biggest designers, tastemakers and fashion icons in the Brooklyn Museum on Monday, June 4.

The fashion designer twins were nominated for Womenswear Designer of the Year and won the award for Accessories Designer of the Year at the event held in New York City, as reported by Pop Culture.

The 31-year-old designers walked on the red carpet at the CFDA Fashion Awards, and because it’s their ninth time attending the event together, Mary-Kate and Ashley showed up essentially matching in head-to-toe black outfits from The Row.

Ashley stepped onto the carpet wearing a black top and a black skirt, paired with black pumps, and Mary-Kate wore a belted coat with matching booties. They both carried black leather handbags.

The Olsen sisters were nominated last year for Womenswear Designer of the Year and won the award in 2012 and 2015, and they also won Accessories Designer of the Year in 2014.

Known as one of the most prestigious honors in the fashion industry, the CFDA Awards ceremony recognizes the industry's past, present, and future in four award categories and several previously announced honors.

Mary-Kate and Ashley started their acting careers at the age of nine months when they were hired to share the role of Michelle Tanner on Full House. They starred in the ABC sitcom from 1987 to 1995.

The celebrity twins in 2006 founded The Row design house with a mission to support high-end fashion manufacturing in the United States, and in 2009 became the youngest designers inducted into the CFDA trade association.

This year Mary-Kate and Ashley have an estimated net worth of more than $400 million.

Their fashion empire is worth an estimated $1 billion and they have been labeled as "America’s Next Billionaires" by Newsweek. Read more on our Twitter account @amomama_usa
