Kate Gosselin's ex-husband shares rare photo of son who was in special needs school

Fans were delighted to see the former reality star share a rare photograph of his son, who has been away at a special needs facility.

Jon Gosselin, the former star of Jon and Kate Plus Eight took to Instagram to share a snapshot of him posing alongside his son as well as his daughter, Hannah, while they celebrated Collin's 14th birthday.

Collin was reportedly sent to live at an unknown facility for children with special need by Kate in 2016. Ever since then, it was first time that the fans of the show had heard anything about Collin.

Kate became the center of a widespread criticism at the time for not letting Jon know the whereabouts of his son. She was also criticized for failing to open up about the kind of treatment Collin would be receiving at the facility.

All of Jon's over 19,000 Instagram followers welcomed the photo and dropped congratulatory comments for the 14-year-old boy.

Kate and Jon were a part of famous reality TV show, Kate & Jon Plus 8, until they got divorced in 2009. The show was then renamed to Kate Plus 8.

After the divorce, Kate got the full custody of all their eight children, six of whom are are sextuplets while the other two are twins.

The fight for the custody of the children is still ongoing between the parents following their bitter separation. Jon has been demanding joint legal rights rather than mere visitation rights.

On the snapshot Jon posted on Instagram, several fans came forward with their views on Kate having the full custody of the children. An Instagram user, Pamela Smith, commented on the photograph that it was 'sad what their mother did to them.' She also praised Jon for being a good father.

User Momof4.5 criticized Kate for not being 'mature' and advised that Collin and Hannah should move in permanently with their father.

Another user, Carolyn Ann Duncan, also supported Jon and accused Kate of separating the children and keeping Collin away from the family.
