'Legally Blonde 3' officially happening

Reese Witherspoon confirmed through an Instagram post that Legally Blonde 3 will soon be hitting the theaters.

The actress made it official when she shared a video on Instagram reassuring the fans that their favorite pink-loving, fashion-forward lawyer will be seen on the big screen once again.

In the video, Witherspoon can be seen laying on a pool float as she glides from one side to the other while wearing her signature hot-pink bikini and sunglasses.

On the caption, the actress, who plays Elle Woods on the classic chick-flick, wrote, ‘It’s true.’ She also used the hashtag #LegallyBlonde3 to make sure that the message of the movie’s return was clear.

Deadline had reported prior to the Instagram post that Witherspoon had been meeting with MGM Studios to close the deal on the movie’s big comeback.

It has been 17 years since Legally Blonde premiered in cinemas worldwide. The original film was adapted from the Amanda Brown novel carrying the same name.

Legally Blonde 2 came two years after the first one.

As of now, the plot line of the upcoming installment remains unknown.

Witherspoon will not only be starring in the film, but she will also be a producer through her company called Hello Sunshine.

The actress also stars in and produces the HBO hit, Big Little Lies.

She will be working alongside the original creative team of Legally Blonde for this latest project. The team consists of screenwriters like Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah, and producers Marc Platt and Adam Siegel.

Fans expressed their excitement on their favorite teen movie’s comeback.
