Tika Sumpter's baby's dad and fiance was actually her co-star

Since revealing the the identity of her baby's father in a heartfelt father's day post, details about the actor have surfaced including his love for adventure.

Tika Sumpter has maintained a very private life especially when it concerns her daughter Ella, now 6 months, and her father, fiancé Nick James.

When she found out she was pregnant back in 2016, she only made it public 7 months on the way on August 2016, explaining she wanted to experience the joys of expectancy without worrying about everybody else’s reactions. At the time, she also withheld the identity of her baby’s father, only referring to him as her boyfriend of one and a half years

It was only a month after she announced her pregnancy that reports surfaced surrounding her baby’s father’s identity. News outlets revealed Nick, her ‘The Have and Have Nots’ co-star was her mysterious boyfriend.

But while news spread about Tika and Nick, the actress still remained mum even after she delivered her child in October 2016 and announced she was engaged to her baby daddy on The Real in January 2017. She revealed her boyfriend popped the question on Christmas Day.

But that changed in June 2017 when she debuted Nick on her Instagram in a Father’s Day post. The actor took center stage in a photo she shared as he carried their adorable little girl. It was the first time the ‘Southside With You’ star shared her fiance’s identity confirming months of speculation. She gushed about him in her heartfelt caption, proving how great a father he is.

With Nick’s name finally attached to Tika and their daughter, it only took a short while for people to try to learn more about the man. It was soon revealed Tika met Nick on the set of ‘The Have and Have Nots’. Though his resume isn’t as extensive as Tika’s, he’s had his fair share of modeling and has played roles in the films ‘Prom Night’, “Fired Up and ‘Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds.’

The guy is also known to be quite adventurous as his Instagram page boasts of surfing, hiking and sky diving trips.

Nick and Tika are set to wed though no date has yet been released.

While that’s still on standby, what’s confirmed is that Tika will be heading the cast of the film version of ‘Sonic The Hedgehog.’ Just this week, it has been revealed that the actress is currently under negotiations to take on the female lead in the Paramount movie which also stars James Marsden.

The film is based on the 1991 Sega game where a hedgehog named “Sonic” goes on a quest to defeat Doctor Robotnik, a scientist known for imprisoning animals in robots and stolen magical Chaos Emeralds.

The movie is reportedly set to be released on November 2019 and marks the first big screen adaptation of the Sonic character.
