Meghan Markle shows off very special gift from the Queen on their first trip together

For the first time since she married Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan Markle attended a solo Royal engagement with Queen Elizabeth.

According to Harper’s Bazaar, the outfit chosen by Meghan was one of the most impressive aspects of their outing. She wore a custom pencil beige Givenchy dress designed by the same person who created her wedding dress, Clare Waight Keller.

Apart from that, Meghan got on black heels, a thin black belt cinched in around her waist, and a black Givenchy clutch. While her outfit was simple yet elegant, her earrings attracted a lot of attention.

Harper’s Bazaar reported that the pair of pearl-and-diamond earrings she wore were a ‘very special gift’ from Elizabeth.

People reported that Meghan’s pieces of jewelry appeared to be a smaller version of the ones Elizabeth got during their solo outing. They added that it is unusual seeing the Queen without her pearl accessories.

For most Royal engagements, the most famous monarch in the world pairs her pearl necklace and matching earrings together, proving how much she likes wearing pearls.

Meghan would not be the only female member of the Royal family who has borrowed a couple of pieces of jewelry from Elizabeth over the years. People pointed out that Duchess Kate Middleton has done the same a couple of times.

During her first solo trip abroad in 2016, Kate took with her a pair of stunning pearl and diamond earrings that belonged to Elizabeth. At a state banquet in 2015, Kate wore the Lotus Flower, a pearl and diamond tiara that belonged to Elizabeth’s mother back in the ‘20s.

Even Princess Diana wore very similar pearl and diamond earrings twice: during an official visit to Edmonton, and in the middle of an official Royal tour of New Zealand, reported Hello!

It seems like pearls are a trendy accessory for the Royal family. Princess Charlotte, Kate and Prince William’s daughter, might be the next one wearing them.
