Friends and family 'desperately' tried to help Heather Locklear before hospitalization

Long before Heather Locklear was hospitalized for psychological evaluation, close friends and family had tried multiple times to get through to Heather.

According to People, Locklear's inner circle of friends and family tried to reach out to her for quite a long time. The actress was known to isolate herself from them, leading to aggravation of her mental health issues.

Over the Father’s Day weekend, she was hospitalized, after threatening suicide. An emergency 911 call was made by a family member, as per TMZ reports.

According to the report, Locklear has been dealing with substance abuse and suicidal thoughts for quite some time.

She was arrested in February 2018 when she verbally abused and threatened deputies who were answering a domestic abuse call at her place.

It was reported that the even though there were visible injuries on her boyfriend, Chris Heisser, she was not charged on any account of domestic abuse.

However, this did lead to the assault on the reporting police officers. She was charged on four misdemeanor counts of battery, for which her lawyer has pled not guilty.

A source close to her reported that she is yet to receive the correct treatment for all her underlying mental health issues, and needs much more help than what she is receiving now.

The source continues that as a mentally ill person, it is very difficult to make the right choices, but her isolation has made it difficult for people close to her to help her in these tough times, even though they are trying their best under the circumstances.

It must be noted that in March 2018, Miss Locklear, who is 56 years old, reportedly join rehab on her own, to try to battle her substance abuse and addiction issues.
