'American Idol' winner posts first photo from Tahiti honeymoon

The couple married over the weekend, and have since been enjoying a wonderful tropical honeymoon together.

Scotty McCreery and his new wife, Gabi Dugal, tied the knot on June 16 in the mountains of North Carolina. Shortly after the ceremony, they jetted off to Tahiti to celebrate their new marriage on honeymoon.

The American Idol Winner shared a sweet photo of himself and his wife to Instagram, relaxing at the beach with a beautiful turquoise ocean rippling in the background with a green hill towering over the sea.

The pair are both grinning away happily at the camera as McCreery hugs Dugal from behind, throwing his arms over her shoulders. Both are wearing a pair of sunglasses to shield them from the sun's sharp rays.

"Ia orana from Tahiti!" he has captioned the image, which means "hello" in the Tahitian language.

McCreery previously shared that his wife had just one requirement for their honeymoon, and that was that she wanted an overwater bungalow.

The couple's wedding was decked out in black, white, and gold, and they served Cajun dishes for at the reception.

Dugal previously told People that she wanted to keep the wedding classic.

“I went with greenery and white flowers, some lanterns and candle votives [for a] rustic feel. We fell in love with the mountains during the summertime [when Scotty proposed], and our [venue] is like a little castle in the woods,” she said.

McCreery also kept up the work while he soaked up the sun in Tahiti, releasing the lyric video for his current single This Is It while on the island.

He has shared that the song was inspired by his decision to propose to Dugal. As a result, he felt that his honeymoon with the woman of his dreams would be the perfect time to release the love song.
