Kelly Preston opens up about perfect date night with John Travolta

The couple have been married for over two decades already, but that doesn't stop him from making sure he sweeps his wife off her feet when it comes to date night.

Kelly Preston and John Travolta have been married since 1991, and yet the Grease actor still pulls out all the stops to make his wife smile on special dates as often as he possibly can.

The actress recently explained to People magazine exactly what her husband does that makes for the most perfect date nights.

Travolta is a licensed pilot, and the couple owns a private plane. So rather than going down the street for a dinner at the local pizza joint, Travolta whisks his wife away on the plane for surprise dinner trips, keeping her in the dark about where.

“I think it’s when Johnny just whisks me away, and we’ll jump on the airplane and go out to dinner, and I don’t know where we’re going. It’s good to be married to a pilot!” Preston gushed.

The couple tied the knot in September 1991, and have had three children since. Son Jett, 18-year-old daughter Ella, and 8-year-old son Benjamin. Sadly, Jett passed away in 2009 of a seizure.

When the couple met, Preston had actually been married to her first husband, Kevin Gage. Despite being married, she confessed that she had pretty much fallen in love with Travolta at first sight.

“Well, I was not that happily married, let’s put it that way. I was really with the wrong person,” she admitted.

With Travolta, Preston can't even pick just one best thing about their relationship.

“There’s too many best things,” she shared. “His lips, dancing, fun, laughing. [We dance] all the time, all the time. The kids dance with us, we go out dancing. We love it.”
