Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman's secret to a successful marriage

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have been together for 12 years, and recently the actress ironically revealed that the secret to a happy relationship was not having secrets.

The couple celebrated their 12 years together on Monday, June 25, 2018, just five days after Kidman's 51st birthday, and they continue to be one of Hollywood's most successful love stories.

During an exclusive interview with Parade, Kidman, who has starred in blockbusters such as Australia, The Others and Moulin Rouge, shared how they keep their relationship fresh.

The 51-year-old claimed that one of the most important aspects of her marriage is the 'no texting' rule. According to Kidman, she never texts Urban nor vice-versa.

Although they have very busy schedules and can spend quite a lot of time away from each other, both talk several times a day over the phone, which is their favorite way of interacting with one another, aside from face-to-face.

The actress confessed that the rule came to be because when they started dating, she didn't know how to text, so nowadays, while away, they only call or Facetime.

Also, texting can be very confusing to Kidman, who believes that it can lead to many misunderstandings and wrong interpretations considering that words without a voice lack a necessary emotional background.

Being humble is one of the most important aspects of a relationship in the Kidman's opinion. According to her, neither one of them give anyone love advice, and having no secrets between them is the healthiest way to keep the flame going strong.

They also keep the love flowing by not being afraid of showing the world how happy they are. Recently, Urban surprised Kidman with a sweet gesture during a performance at Country USA Festival in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Kidman wasn't able to attend the concert, but the singer was able to capture the moment on his phone as he got the audience to sing 'Happy Birthday' along with him.
