Whoopi Goldberg's daughter melts hearts with throwback photo of her granddaughter in pink dress
Alex Martin, one of the daughters of actress and comedian Whoopi Goldberg, took to Instagram to share a photo of her granddaughter, Charlie Rose, wearing a pink tutu.
In the image, which Alex revealed it was a throwback to Charlie’s first recital, the girl was shown wearing a pink onesie, a matching tutu, white tights, and matching ballerina shoes.
According to Hello Magazine, Whoopi became a grandmother when she was 34 years old as Alex gave birth to her first daughter Amarah Skye (November 1989), whose father’s identity has not been revealed.
Alex later welcomed two more children to the world, daughter Jerzey (1995) and Mason (1998). In 2014, when Whoopi was 58 years old, she became great-grandmother as Amarah gave birth to Charlie.
The first time that Whoopi met Charlie, she took to Instagram to share a video showing herself holding the baby. In it, the actress was holding the baby in her arms while feeding her.
Since Charlie was sleeping, Whoopi was whispering to the camera so she wouldn’t wake up. The TV-host introduced the baby by saying her name and pointed out that she was feeding her, which was something she hadn’t done in 40 years.
However, Whoopi wasn’t completely sure about that number, so the person recording, who might have been Amarah, said that the cipher she was looking for was actually 39.
Whoopi has been married three times. Her first husband was Alvin Martin, to whom she tied the knot in 1973. Only six years later, the couple parted ways. Whoopi would then marry cinematographer David Claessen in 1986.
However, that relationship was even shorter as they got divorced two years later. Whoopi’s final marriage was with Lyle Trachtenberg. They walked down the aisle in 1994 but got divorced in 1995, which was the actress’ shortest relationship.
After a long and successful career as an actress, she now focuses primarily on the talk show The View, wherein she has worked since 2007.
