Public: Johnny Depp's 16-year-old son has 'serious health problems'

Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp's teenage son is facing a health battle so severe his mother had to cancel an appearance at a recent film screening.

As reported by the French outlet, Public, Paradis received 'bad news' and couldn't make it to the screening of A Knife In The Heart, which premiered Tuesday evening.

The film's director, Yann Gonzalez, informed the guests that 16-year-old Jack had fallen ill and Paradis needed to be by her son's side.

The cast members were already on stage when the announcement was made, and it is still unclear what Jack's diagnosis is

Gonzales only revealed that Paradis "had to be absent because of her son's serious health problems." Their representatives are yet to respond to People's request for comment.

Paradis, a renowned French actress whose career spans more than three decades, was cast in the role of Anna Parèze, a gay porn producer, in the suspense drama.

As reported by Daily Mail, the 45-year-old Paradis and Johnny Depp were in a long-term relationship from the late nineties and dated for 14 years.

The couple separated in 2012. They were married but share two children: 19-year-old Lily-Rose and 16-year-old John Christoper Jack.

Unfortunately, Depp is touring through Europe at the moment with his band,

, and cannot be by Jack's side.

The band, which boasts members such as Joe Perry and Alice Cooper, performed in Russia and Germany, and Depp was spotted signing autographs in St. Petersburg.

After his tour, he will start filming of The Invisible Man, in the role of Dr. Griffen. Three of his films - City of Lies, Fantastic Beasts, and London Fields - will be released later this year.
