'Empire' star Yazz melts hearts in precious pic with TV daughter baby Bella & Phylicia Rashad
Yazz proves his closeness to his co-stars sharing a sweet photo with them.
He plays rap artist Hakeem Lyon in the popular series ‘Empire’ apart from being a father to his daughter Bella. And Bryshere Y. Gray, more popularly known as Yazz, proves how much he enjoys his role as he delights in bonding with his co-stars.
The 24-year-old actor greeted his followers a “Happy Sunday” sharing a photo of him with his on-screen daughter Bella and Phylicia Rashad who plays Diana Dubois in the series. The trio appeared to be sitting in a garden as the two adults watched over the little girl. Yazz and Phylicia’s characters may have been at odds on their show, but they definitely shared a sweet moment together off-cam.
Phylicia’s powerhouse entry into the series as Diana Dubois on its 3rd season stirred problems for the Lyon clan, and that includes Yazz’s character Hakeem. When his daughter Bella went missing, she was discovered to be under the protection of Diana who required Lyon to do certain things if he wanted his daughter back.
It became more difficult for Lyon to regain his daughter when Diana revealed a recording that eventually allowed Bella’s mother Anika to gain custody of Bella. However, Hakeem entually gained back custody of the one-year-old after it was discovered Anika was involved in Bella’s kidnapping.
Yazz’s role in Empire has solidified his name on television and as a musician. He began his stint with the Fox drama in 2015 which eventually led to his signing on with Columbia Records for a solo act. In 2016, he also joined the cast of the BET miniseries about the boy band ‘New Edition.’ The show debuted in 2017 with Yazz playing the role of Michael Bivins. This year, Yazz co-starred with Tetyana Taylor in the film ‘Honey: Rise Up and Dance.’
