Nicole Kidman's husband sings new song live on 'Tonight Show'
On Tuesday, June 26, Keith Urban took the stage at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform his latest single Coming Home.
As you can see in the Youtube video, Jimmy Fallon introduced the country star as “the real deal” before Urban performed Coming Home for the Tonight Show audience to promote his newest album Graffiti U and tour.
Urban’s single is all about going back to the place where you are surrounded by the people you love most. With upbeat guitar sounds and catchy lyrics, the song is already a hit and a heartwarming testimony to the singer’s musical style.
Great live performances are not a new thing for Keith Urban. But, even by his admittedly very high standards, he rocked the studio when he performed his new single on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Along with a great song, Urban’s signature stage presence took lead as he riffed through the memorable chorus and left the crowd with their hearts melted. Read more on our Twitter account @amomama_usa
Urban revealed that Coming Home started with an idea he had of using the intro of one of his favorite Haggard songs, 'Mama Tried,' to build an entirely new song around it.
"Then, I took the idea to J.R. Rotem and he put some chords around it. I jotted down the first words that the music made me feel, jumped on a mic and sang the chorus." Urban explained.
Near the end of the song guest vocalist Julia Michaels, who co-wrote the song, appeared on the screen behind the band for her beautiful section of the song, harmonizing perfectly.
The audience was simply delighted by the performance. The new album Graffiti U was officially released in April and features the singles Female, Parallel Line and Coming Home; it found a place at No.2 on the Billboard 200 chart.
