Janet Jackson posts touching photo in tribute to father Joe for the first time since his death
Singer and songwriter Janet Jackson, one of the daughters of Joe Jackson, shared the first photo addressing the passing of her father on social media since it happened.
The image, which was uploaded to Janet’s Twitter account, was an old black-and-white picture that showed Joe with a big afro hairstyle wearing a plaid shirt while Janet was only a child wearing a striped dress.
Joe was looking directly at the camera while the much younger Janet was looking at something else. For the caption, the singer only added a purple heart emoji.
As soon as she uploaded that photo, her fans and followers retweeted and replied to it sharing their condolences and prayers. One of them was Twitter user @MoniB526, who admitted that the image was a precious memory and added that she was praying for Janet and her family.
According to ET Online, Janet was allegedly one of the many family members who got together at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California, for Joe’s private memorial service and burial which took place on July 2
One of the most interesting facts about Forest Lawn is that one of Joe’s son, King of Pop Michael Jackson, is also interred there. He passed away on June 25, 2009, and his tomb is inaccessible to the general public.
Joe, who had been struggling with terminal cancer, died on June 27 when he was 89 years old. He spent his final moments in a Las Vegas hospital trying to be treated, but his condition kept deteriorating until he ultimately passed away.

At this point, all members of the Jackson family have shared their condolences on social media. The last person who did it was Janet.

Apart from his numerous family, Joe leaves behind a controversial and much publicized harsh relationship with most of his children. During a conversation Janet had with Piers Morgan in 2011, she revealed a couple of aspects about it.
The singer revealed that even though Joe wanted the best for his children, the way he treated them was not necessarily ‘the right way.’ Janet revealed the first and only time Joe hit her, that she wasn’t allowed to call him ‘dad,’ and some other things that damaged their relationship.
