The Sun: Kate Middleton may inherit incredible part of Diana’s legacy after Charles becomes king
The complex rules of royal titles will result in Kate Middleton being the successor to the title 'Princess of Wales.'
Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently second in line of succession of the royal inheritance, after Prince Charles and Camilla Bowles-Parker.
The title used by Prince Charles is Prince of Wales, however, Camilla does not use the title Princess of Wales, even though she is entitled to it. She goes by the title Duchess of Cornwall.

It is now confirmed by The Sun, as per the process of inheritance of titles, that once the Queen of England is no more, William will inherit the title of Prince of Wales from Prince Charles and Kate will inherit Princess of Wales
This will take effect as Prince Charles will inherit the throne and assume the title of King.
Kate will be the first person after Diana to hold the go by the title of Princess of Wales. It will be up to her if she wants to use the title as a way of honoring the legacy of Princess Diana.
The Duchess, though she never got the privilege to meet Diana, has always been supportive of her cause and along with Prince William, has paid tribute to her in multiple ways in the past.
Their daughter, Princess Charlotte was christened Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, and they also live in the Kensington Palace, Diana’s former residence.
Where Camilla has shied away from the title, Kate, or Duchess Catherine as she is referred to formally, may want to use the title to celebrate Diana’s legacy. Until then, 92-year-old Queen Elizabeth will the head of the royal family.
It is also worth noting that there is a very small chance of any change in Prince Harry’s title, as he is sixth in line, only after all the three royal children.
