Chris Brown arrested moments after leaving stage at Florida concert
Just moments after his concert in Palm Beach County, Florida, Chris Brown was arrested on an out of county warrant.
According to WPTV, police officers waited for him to finish his set at the Coral Sky Ampitheatre in West Palm Beach prior to arresting him backstage last Thursday night.
The officers arrested him immediately after he got off the stage, and peacefully escorted him to a cruiser that led them to the local police station.
The news affiliate said that the warrant for the singer's arrest was for a charge on felony battery, and was issued at the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office.
Based on additional news by ABC News, the altercation occured in Tampa last year, when Chris Brown punched a club photographer during an after party he was paid to be at.
The singer was released that same night, after he paid a $2000 bond. This is not his first time he has gotten into trouble with the law, having several run-ins with the law prior to his arrest, including a notable domestic violence incident with his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. He was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats during that incident, and received a five-year probation period and community service for his charges.
Following Brown’s arrest, he shared an Instagram photo of himself performing on-stage, captioning it with
“What’s NEW???? Show tomorrow!!!!”
Neither the singer nor his representatives have released a statement regarding what had happened, posting “business as usual” photos on social media.
Chris is currently on his “Heartbreak on a Full Moon Tour” to promote his latest album, and the tour is set to end on August 4. He is scheduled to perform next at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fair Grounds in Tampa this Friday.
