Joanna Gaines shares sweet tradition Chip is continuing with son Crew

Chip Gaines doesn't remove the hospital band he wears for his child's birth until it falls off.

His wife, Joanna, revealed this in an Instagram post showing the hospital band around Chip's wrist as he holds their newborn son, Crew.

"Chip started a tradition with Drake where he wore the hospital bracelet until it fell off... looks like the tradition lives on. #5," Joanna captioned the sweet photo, which has racked up more than 1.3 million likes in just four days.

The adorable Instagram photo has also drawn more than 10,000 comments from admiring fans.

"He is precious. Thank you for sharing your family with us," wrote Linda Simmons.

Another fan, Kim Wright-Ralston, commented: "What a darling little baby boy, just like the rest of the 'babies'. May God bless and keep you in His grip. You are such a loving family, it shows in so many ways."

"Great family! Great values that you are teaching your kids! Crew is adorable," Rachel Roo-Davis chimed in.

Drake, who is now 13 years old, is the couple's eldest child. The Fixer Upper hosts' other children are Ella, 11, Duke, 10, and Emmie, 8.

Joanna earlier revealed how her pregnancy with Crew caught her and Chip by surprise.

"When I saw the results of the test, my jaw dropped," she recalled in an interview with People. "Chip was in the driveway about to leave when I called him back and said, 'We're pregnant!' He was so excited. We're both just so excited."

Joanna and Chip rose to fame with the success of Fixer Upper, an American reality television series about home design and renovation airing on HGTV. The show's pilot aired in May 2013. The show had Chip and Joanna working with clients on buying and remodeling homes.

Throughout the course of the reality show, the couple had worked on over 100 homes. The show's fifth and final season premiered on November 21, 2017.
