'DWTS' pro dancer becomes acquainted with third sister only after their father’s death

In the midst of mourning the death of her father, Cheryl Burke has found an unexpected blessing in a family member she had never met before, as she shared in a heartfelt Instagram post.

The four months that have passed since the 34-year-old dancer, model and TV host’s father Stephen Louis Burke passed away in March have been filled with mixed emotions. It’s been an eventful period of time for Cheryl.

First, her now fiancé, actor Matthew Lawrence, known for his roles on sitcoms like Girl Meets World and Melissa & Joey, asked her to marry him using the same diamond that Cheryl’s father gave to her mother back in the day for the ring.

The lovely moment was a bright spot for Cheryl two months after losing her father, and now, she has found new comfort in finally meeting a half-sister she had only heard about before, as Inquisitr reported.

Cheryl revealed the surprising news to her fans on her Instagram account on July 9 with a photo of herself and her newfound sister Ina that she captioned with a very emotional message. Read more on our Twitter account @amomama_usa

‘With my father's passing came a lot of darkness but there was also a lot of light - I found my sister who I had never known,’ Cheryl began.

‘We recently met for the first time and it was such a surreal experience to walk into a room to meet and walk out feeling like we had known each other forever,’ she added.

‘In her, I see the same drive and passion that our dad had and there’s clearly a major family resemblance. It may have taken 30 years to find each other, but I am so excited to have another sister for life,’ concluded the pro dancer.

The mirror ball winner added a pair of throwback photos of her sister and herself as children side by side in the slideshow post.

Her sister Ina responded with a similar post on her Instagram, and she also had some things to say about the meeting: ‘Can’t believe it’s taken 30 years to finally meet my other half, ’she wrote.
