Though their marriage fell apart in a little over ten years, she stayed in the Hills, to continue with her charitable work. She was rumored to have been close to the musician long after their separation.
The legendary singer had been unfaithful to Nancy Sr., with actress and musician Ava Gardner, which was the main reason why the couple filed for divorce, ten years and three children after their marriage.
After the affair became public, he divorced Nancy and tied the knot with Gardner instead. Sinatra would go on to marry two more times but Nancy Sr. never did so again.
