Since they first arrived at the White House, the former US President and his wife were determined to give their two daughters the most normal life possible, and they did everything in their hands to keep them out of reach from the media.

But the curiosity was always big about Sasha and Malia Obama, the youngest inhabitants of the White House since the Kennedy era, and the press managed to report on some details from the sisters’ personal lives.

Her real name

One of the Obama’s greatest feats, when they were the First Couple, was keeping Sasha’s real name a secret. In fact, the truth was only revealed in June 2017, six months after Barack Obama left office.

The media could learn Sasha’s real name when it surfaced that she had taken a summer job at Martha’s Vineyard, on which she was reportedly using her full name. It turns out Sasha is actually short for Natasha.

She was especially thrilled to meet a Hollywood star

In March 2016 Sasha and her older sister attended a state dinner for the first time. And as much as she might have been used to being around very famous people on a regular basis, she couldn’t help but fangirling when meeting actor Ryan Reynolds.

The Deadpool star and his wife Blake Lively were invited to the event, and when Sasha had the chance to talk one on one with the celebrity she couldn’t hide her nervousness, while Malia famously encouraged her giving her thumbs-up.

She is a big live music fan

The youngest Obama has been to her fair share of concerts, not counting the great live performances she had the opportunity to enjoy at special events at the White House, as the Obama’s were really popular among the artists.

Sasha had been known to attend many Beyoncé shows, and she was also seen dancing out to Rihanna’s presentation at a music festival in 2016. One of her greatest honors was dancing to late legendary musician Prince on stage.
