Popular singer pregnant with first child

Rachel Platten shared the news that she was pregnant with her first child. She took to social media with a baby bump picture to make the announcement.

The Instagram post showed her laughing as she cradled her visible baby bump. Accompanying the image was a long caption where she shared her pregnancy journey so far.

Singer Rachel Platten, 37, waited for later in her life to have her first child. The Fight Song singer announced the news on Instagram on Wednesday.

The father of the child is her husband Kevin Lazan. In her caption, she wrote about how the pregnancy announcement was her most exciting news but also the most vulnerable.

The singer explained that she had wanted to share the ‘total bliss’ and the fear. Eventually, she just decided to be herself and open up.

Platten revealed that she was overwhelmed with love, joy, and happiness about their baby. She confessed that having a baby growing inside her was a miracle.

The star also shared with fans that her husband was thrilled with the news too. Then she got down to the nitty-gritty as she explained how pregnancy had treated her so far.

She explained that the spring and summer had been incredibly difficult for her. The singer admitted suffering from serious nausea, exhaustion, and constant sickness.

She acknowledged that people tend to avoid speaking about the hard parts of pregnancy when they share their journeys. The star confessed that she was afraid to share that part because she worried she would seem ungrateful, which she wasn’t.

In her caption, she also revealed that while flying and performing she would puke in green rooms and airplanes. She admitted that she was only human and could feel more than one emotion at a time.

Platten confessed to feeling love, wonder, awe, and joy. However, she stated that she also felt frustration, sickness, fear, and other feelings that were normal.

She wrapped up her post by saying, ‘With all the mystery and wonder around this, one thing that has been abundantly clear to me: this little unbelievable soul that I haven't even met yet is going to be my biggest teacher in the world and I cannot wait to learn.’

Her post ended with the star promising to share as much as she could of her journey with her fans.
