The footage was obtained by TMZ and it showed Austin Clay demolishing President Trump’s star at three o’clock in the morning on July 25th in Los Angeles, California.

On the video, passersby did not seem bothered by Clay as he continuously lifted his pickaxe over his head and smashed it on the plaque.

There was even a man who stood close and watched Clay as he was doing the deed. Clay did not seem to mind that people were watching him either.

After he was down, Clay fled the scene and left behind his pickaxe. Afterward, he reportedly called the authorities and admitted that he was the reason behind the smashed plaque.

A day after the incident, Clay was said to be facing felony vandalism charges, which they suggested was going to cost him a $10,000 fine and a jail sentence of up to three years.

Reports revealed that Clay placed his pickaxe inside a guitar case.

Photos posted on the Daily Mail revealed President Trump’s star looking completely unrecognizable with its shattered pieces scattered all over the sidewalk in front of Forever 21.

CBS Los Angeles spoke with Clay’s girlfriend who said she had no idea that he was going to destroy the president’s star. Although, she revealed that Clay has always had issues with President Trump.

According to the police department, Clay was booked for felony vandalism and is being held on bail worth $20,000. There has been no news as to why Clay destroyed the star in the first place.

Clay may soon be released with the help of James Otis, who was previously arrested for defacing President Trump’s star prior to the 2016 election.

According to TMZ, Otis is determined to free Clay and reportedly wanted to meet him in person.
