'The Young and the Restless' star, 66, marries model, 38, two years after getting engaged

David Hasselhoff, who is most known for his role on the television series Baywatch, has tied the knot with model Hayley Roberts.

The couple met each other in 2011 when Roberts approached Hasselhoff for an autograph, which he happily gave her in exchange for her phone number.

According to ABC News, the news was confirmed by Hasselhoff's publicist on Tuesday and it has been revealed that the ceremony took place in the southern region of Puglia, in Italy.

Although not much is known about the ceremony, People Magazine believes that the 66-year-old actor flew both daughters, Taylor and Hayley, to the Italian region for the occasion.

When Hasselhoff, who also starred in Knight Rider, laid eyes on Roberts back in 2011, he was immediately struck by her beauty and wanted to know more about her.

Back then, he was filming auditions for the popular show Britain's Got Talent, where he starred as a judge alongside Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Michael McIntyre and Louis Walsh, who appeared as a guest.

Seven years later, they tied the knot after Hasselhoff proposed to Roberts in 2016. According to Hello! Magazine, the proposal was done during a romantic beach picnic in Malibu.

At the time, Roberts confessed to the news outlet that she wasn't expecting the actor to propose to her and that she felt overwhelmed by the idea of becoming his wife.

Throughout their relationship, the 38-year-old model developed a close bond with Hasselhoff's daughters, who even encouraged their father to pop the question.

"I told my girls what I was going to do and they were both really supportive. It’s tough. No one wants to see their parents split up. But they love Hayley and they’re just happy for me.”

The former Baywatch actor was previously married to Catherine Hickland and Pamela Bach, and, even though he was reluctant to marry again, he seems to have found a new soulmate to grow old with.
