'Mr. Make It Last Forever' Keith Sweat is a successful father of 4 grown-up, beautiful children
Sweat was married to "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Lisa Wu Hartwell and she gave him two sons, Jordan and Justin. The New Jack Swing pioneer also has two daughters, Keyshia and Keia.
Keith Douglas Sweat is an American R&B and soul singer, songwriter, record producer, radio personality and one of the pioneers of New Jack Swing, a genre of music created by Teddy Riley that combines jazz, electronica, smooth jazz, funk, rap, and R&B.
He was married to Lisa Wu Hartwell, best known for being a former cast member of the reality show "Real Housewives of Atlanta," from 1992 until 2002. Lisa gave Sweat his two sons Jordan, 28, and Justin, 20.
He also has two lovely daughters, Keyshia, 28 and Keia, 20.
Balancing life as a single dad and being a high-profile artist was not easy for the now 57-year-old musician, but he has managed to do pretty well. Speaking to Jet magazine about the relationship he has with the kids, Sweat said:
"I've done a lot of things and I'm in a place of my life where I'm very much happy. I'm friends with all of my kids. I'm not only a parent, but a friend."
Of what his children think of his craft, he said:
"They know what I do and appreciate and respect what I do. They've been to quite a few shows. They think its funny watching women scream."
These days, Keith is the host of a syndicated radio show "The Sweat Hotel," where he plays popular R&B hits, interviews other R&B stars and talks about his career.
Despite his success, Sweat's priority is still his children's happiness. And to any lady who wants to come into his life, he has a message: "The person with me has to accept and care for them as well. My kids come first."
