Meghan Markle stunned in $500 sleeveless dress while stepping out with friend Serena Williams
Meghan Markle made sure to spend some time with her close friend Serena Williams while cheering on her husband and brother-in-law during a polo match.
Meghan attended the Audio Polo Challenge in Ascot, England in June to support her husband Prince Harry and brother-in-law Prince William as they competed in the tournament. Accompanying the royal was her close friend, Tennis superstar Serena Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian, who were both present during the Royal Wedding last May 19.
The Duchess of Sussex was a real head turner in her gorgeous gingham Ashland dress, which was designed by Shoshanna Gruss. The flowy dress featured a sleeveless cut and came down just below Meghan's knees, the standard cut for any royal woman. The piece also featured eyelet details and a dainty bow that hugged her waist. The piece has since then been sold out on major retail stores like Neiman Marcus since the princess donned it during the polo event.
Meghan paired her dress with a pair of Grear leather sandals from Sarah Flint New York, a pair of oversized black sunnies, and a black-and-white Madewell x Biltmore Panama hat, which is now currently sold out in stores.
Prince Harry and Prince William pleased their fans as they took on the field just a day before their late mother Princess Diana's birthday to play for their favorite charities. The royal brothers donned white polos with stripes on the side paired with white pants and boots for their appearance.
While Meghan Markle showed full support for her husband during the weekend event, William's wife Kate Middleton was not spotted at the Polo Club, most likely due to her responsibilities at the Windsor Castle.
Joining Meghan for the match at the Coworth Park Polo Club, however, was her good friend Serena Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian. At the time, the two were in the United Kingdom for the prestigious Tennis event, Wimbledon, where Serena hoped to bag her eighth championship title. While this was her goal, she ultimately fell short after a challenging championship match against Angelique Kerber.
During her Wimbledon adventure, Alexis Ohanian and Serena's daughter Olympia showed their all-out support, being present in her practices and games.
While this year's Wimbledon was Serena's first since giving birth to her daughter, Serena previously competed at the BNP Paribas Open last March, where she reached the third round. After she lost in the first round of the Miami Open just a week after, the Tennis superstar decided to quit the game for two months to improve her fitness.
Her short break did her well, as she has clearly gotten back to shape. However, it seems she might need an added push now that she fell short in grabbing the Wimbledon title this year. Her opponents better watch out though, because now a hungrier Serena is out to get that title.
