One of Rory's closest confidants, Mstislav Kochkin, who also attended the prestigious Rugby School, identified him after photographs surfaced of him and Obama kissing,  and described his former schoolmate as "a nice guy, a good student and a good friend."

Rory was also the head boy at his school during his senior year.
