Daily Mail: Malia Obama's new boyfriend linked to the royal family

The former president's daughter has been spotted out and about with her new boyfriend, who rumor has it has ties to the British royal family.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, may not be the only pretty American girl to catch a roving eye with links to the royal family. Malia Obama is all grown up and studying at Harvard University, where she was spotted with an Englishman in November 2017.

Photographs were posted of Obama, 20, kissing the young man, but no-one seemed to know who he was. Insiders have revealed his identity: His name is Rory Farquharson, 20, and he is British.

The man kissing the former First Daughter graduated from one of Britain's most prestigious and expensive privste schools, Rugby School, before joining the class of 2020 at Harvard University.

One of Rory's closest confidants, Mstislav Kochkin, who also attended the prestigious Rugby School, identified him after photographs surfaced of him and Obama kissing, and described his former schoolmate as "a nice guy, a good student and a good friend."

Rory was also the head boy at his school during his senior year.

Rory is the son of a British banker, Charles Farquharson, 57, who has a law degree from St Catharine's College, Cambridge, and is set on following his father's footsteps into the financial world.

Farquharson Senior is now the CEO of Insight Investment Management Limited based in London. It is his brother Andrew, who provides the Farquharson clan with its close connection to the British Royal Family.

Andrew Farquharson was a valued aide and trusted financial adviser to the Queen for many years, until 2006, when he was taken on by the Prince of Wales' staff as Deputy Master of the Household at Clarence House.

He is now the Head of Household at Alnwick Castle, in Northumberland.

Rory and Obama met at Harvard University where both study after the former president's eldest daughter took a year off after finishing high school to dabble in the entertainment industry.
